The date window is located at 3 o’clock, providing additional functionality while maintaining the aesthetic balance of the dial.
The stainless steel case back is engraved with “Waterproof” and features authenticity markings (“Omega Watch Co. - Fab Suisse - Swiss Made - Acier Inoxydable”), attesting to the brand’s prestigious heritage. The watch comes with a new 18mm black leather strap, which adds a touch of elegance and comfort.
This Omega Genève from 1959 is a sought-after piece among vintage watch collectors. Its automatic movement and elegant design make it a classic and timeless model, ideal for those who appreciate Omega's watchmaking history and the beauty of watches from the 1950s.
Omega's history begins in 1848 with Louis Brandt who opened a "Comptoir d'Etablissement" for watchmaking subcontracting. In 1880, brothers Louis Paul and César Brandt created a modern watchmaking factory. By 1889, the company was producing 100,000 pieces per year. The Omega name did not appear until 1903. Omega developed amazing movements such as the "Labrador" in 1885. In 1917, Omega supplied watches to the British Army and in 1918 to the American Army. In 1957, the Speed Pro was born, then selected by NASA in 1965 as its official timekeeper. Today, Omega continues to demonstrate mechanical innovation and remains one of the most prominent brands in the watch world.
